Brigadier General Retired's Car That Plunged Into The Sea In Marunda Was Examined By The National Police Laboratory Today

JAKARTA - The Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is scheduled to inspect the car of Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Hendrawan Ostevan, who was previously found after the incident plunged into the waters of Marunda, North Jakarta, Monday, January 20 afternoon.

The Toyota Vios type car was used by retired TNI when the incident occurred.

"The investigation of the car will be carried out by the Puslabfor Bareskrim Polri team accompanied by investigators from the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, to reporters, Monday, January 20.

The purpose of this examination is to reveal the motive behind the death of Brigadier General TNI (Ret.) Hendrawan Ostevan, who is still a question mark. Vehicle inspection is scheduled to take place during the day.

"Investigation and inspection will focus on the condition of the car," continued Ade.

Previously, the Head of the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ressa Fiardy Marasabessy, conveyed the initial results of the investigation. Based on the analysis, Hendrawan Ostevan drove a car alone before heading to the Marunda area.

"The victim had time to go to Tangerang from home, then, based on IT analysis, he toured several locations such as Bogor, Senen, until finally he went to Marunda," said Ressa.

CCTV footage shows the Toyota Vios driven by Hendrawan entering the pier area of PT KCN Marunda on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at around 00.35 WIB. The car then followed the Kade 07-08 to the end of the dock before finally plunging into the sea.

Apart from checking vehicles, the police also dug up information from the family. Temporary results show that Hendrawan Ostevan does not have personal or enemy problems that are known.

However, Ressa mentioned that the family's examination was only in the early stages. "Further investigation is needed to understand the victim's profile and daily activities," he said.

Until now, investigations have continued, including forensic analysis and collection of witness statements to reveal the background of the incident.
