Looking For The Presence Of Chinese Citizens Who Made Videos As If They Were Strikes By Immigration Officers, Minister Of Immipas: We Deported And Prevented

JAKARTA - Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto admitted that his party was tracing the whereabouts of foreign nationals (WNA) from China who uploaded a video narration of the strike to immigration officials at the airport.

"It is being tracked. (The Chinese citizen who made the video) was not at the address he was reported when he arrived," Agus told reporters, Sunday, January 19.

Currently, the Chinese citizen from LB has been banned at all immigration checkpoints (TPI) for safekeeping and clarification. If found, the Chinese citizen will be deported and prevented from entering Indonesia again.

"Later we will deport and prevent it, it could be 10 years or life," explained Agus.

Agus emphasized that based on internal checks so far, there has been no evidence of a strike at the airport by the Chinese citizen.

So, according to him, the Chinese citizen created video content with a narration of the need for bribery has the aim of making Indonesia viewed negative.

"I see that the motive is indeed embarrassing, not only about immigration content, but also the National Police and maybe targeting others," he said.

For information, in the video, a man from China arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport and showed Rp500 thousand in cash that was tucked into his passport.

The Chinese citizen admitted that he did this to get a green route and did not need to be checked upon arrival in Indonesia.

In his official X account, the Directorate General of Immigration emphasized that the actions of foreign nationals with Customs and Excise officers at Soekarno Hatta Airport as in the video were not true.

"It has been confirmed directly that the officer did not ask for or receive any compensation from the foreigner. In the video there is also absolutely no evidence that the officer did this," he said.

From the results of the inspection, the Directorate General of Immigration confirmed that the two Chinese citizens in the video passed at Terminal 2 arrivals by autogate, so they did not go through manual counters with immigration officers.

"The chronology data has been adjusted to the CCTV footage, which proves that the officers did not request and receive anything from the person concerned," he explained.
