Bandarlampung Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) recorded that two victims died in the flood that hit the city.
"Our data shows that two victims died when the flood occurred on Friday (17/1)," said Head of the Bandarlampung Damkarmat Service, Anthoni Irawan, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, January 18.
He revealed that the victims who died were residents of Waylunik Panjang who were electrocuted during the flood and another was a resident of North Betung Bay who was dragged by the river current.
"The two bodies have been successfully evacuated. One body was just found this morning on the coast of the Bumi Waras Sea," he said.
Meanwhile, Damkarmat together with the SAR Team also succeeded in evacuating mothers and children who were trapped in the flood incident in Waylunik.
"So there were a total of three reports that we got during yesterday's flood incident. One we managed to save two died," he said.
Currently, the Bandarlampung City Government is still cleaning up the remains of sediment in houses affected by the flood.
"From us, 70 Damkarmat personnel were deployed. They were also assisted by the relevant agencies," he said.
It is known that heavy rains that flushed Bandarlampung City on Friday (17/1) with high intensity and long periods of time caused a number of areas in the local city to be severely affected by flooding.
Floods that hit areas in Bandarlampung have different heights from the lowest adult waist.
The flood also made four-wheeled vehicles in Waylunik swept away by the flow of water. Even Yos Sudarso Street to Panjang District is difficult to pass by four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles.
Then the suspension bridge at the Putri Sumur tourist location was destroyed due to the heavy overflow of water.
