PASER - Busui Bridge, which collapsed and split in half after being hit by a trailer truck filled with bulk cement, was officially closed because it could not be passed by vehicles. As a result, the road access between East Kalimantan (Kaltim) and South Kalimantan (Kalsel) is now completely paralyzed.
After news of the collapse of the Busui Bridge spread, dozens of local residents, mostly from Busui Village, Batu Sopang District, packed the scene on Thursday, January 16. They were curious to see firsthand the condition of the bridge that was badly damaged.

BPBD Paser analyst, Marwansyah, explained that severe damage to the Busui Bridge made the road between East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan impassable.
"Today's road access cannot be passed, both four-wheeled and two-wheeled because it is still cut off," Marwansyah said on Friday, January 17.
He also mentioned two alternative roads that people can use for trips from East Kalimantan to South Kalimantan. The first option is a mine or coal road from Muara Komam District to Batu Kajang District, East Kalimantan.
The second option is the route through provincial roads, starting from Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan, passing through Sungai Danau District, and entering Tanah Grogot District in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.
