Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution: Old Buildings In Kesawan Will Be Revitalized This Year

JAKARTA - The Medan City Government (Pemkot) targets to revitalize a number of old buildings in the Kesawan area to restore the past glory of Medan this year.

"Hopefully this year, we can revitalize the existing buildings in Kesawan," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, in Medan, North Sumatra, quoted from Antara, Sunday, April 18.

However, continued the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), before revitalizing the old building, the Medan City Government immediately formed a management body for the Kesawan area first.

Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, the Deputy Mayor of Semarang City and Chairman of the Semarang Old Town Area Management Agency, to inspect a number of historical buildings in Kesawan.

There are four locations of historical buildings in the old town of Kesawan in Medan, namely Maimun Palace, Sri Deli Park, Al Mashun Mosque, and Tjong A Fie House.

"The task of the Medan City Government is to find a way out with the Maimun Palace family. If there is an agreement, God willing, the revitalization can be carried out immediately," said Bobby.

The Deputy Mayor of Semarang, Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu, who is visiting Medan for the first time admitted that he was very impressed after seeing the old town of Kesawan.

"In terms of buildings, I see that they are still very strong. In contrast to buildings in the old city of Semarang and in the old city of Jakarta. I am sure that Kesawan can be revitalized," he said.
