DKI Provincial Government Prepares BTT Funds To Run The Pramono-Rano Free Breakfast Program This Year

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi said that the free breakfast program in Jakarta launched by Pramono Anung-Rano Karno could run this year.

The DKI Provincial Government, according to him, has prepared a budget that will later be needed by Pramono-Rano to carry out his program after being inaugurated as Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta, including free breakfast at school.

This was revealed by Teguh after holding a meeting with the ranks of the Pramono-Rano transition team at the DKI Jakarta City Hall.

"Of course there are several posts that can be prepared. Later we will discuss further with the transition team, technically we will convey it," said Teguh, Thursday, January 16.

Teguh explained that the DKI Provincial Government has unexpected expenditure funds (BTT) in the 2025 budget year APBD. According to him, BTT funds can be used to start running free breakfast programs in the Pramono-Rano era.

"If BTT can make a budget shift, now we will prepare it. So if you say later there will indeed be a free breakfast program, or subsidies, or how," said Teguh.

During the Jakarta gubernatorial election campaign, Pramono Anung said he would run a free breakfast program for students at school if they won the election. This free breakfast will be an additional intake for students in addition to free lunch run by the central government.

"Actually, in the Jakarta APBD funds, there is an allocation. So it's not something too new. It's just that this program will be synergized with a lunch program from the central government. In fact, there are two different things, so we propose for a free breakfast," said Pramono in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Tuesday, October 29.

Pramono even guaranteed free breakfast at school can be held next year after the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta due to the 2024 Pilkada.

"The funds, the allocation already exists. In fact, if I am inaugurated in 2025, there will be funds. So, this program can definitely run. It's not something that comes from being like that," said Pramono.

Pramono is optimistic that the free breakfast program can run every day, students go to school, similar to eating nutritious food for free. The cost per portion of this free breakfast, according to Pramono, is not much different from President Prabowo Subianto's mainstay program.

"So if I believe it will run, we will change the menu at any time. The important thing is to be healthy. That then there will be a fixed menu, nasi uduk, we will do it," he explained.
