Bogor Immigration Secures Foreigners Involved In Commotion At Puncak Mosque

BOGOR - Bogor Non-TPI Class 1 Immigration Office secures Foreign Citizens (WNA) who are involved in a commotion with mosque marbots in the Cisarua area, Bogor Regency, West Java.

"We have secured the foreigner at the Bogor Immigration Office. Now he is in the examination stage, whether it is true that he was the perpetrator who abused Indonesian citizens in the mosque or not," said Head of Immigration Enforcement Subsection Oktinardo Kansil as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 15.

Bogor Immigration continues to carry out examinations of foreigners even though the victim does not report incidents of commotion to the police. Even so, the verdict of sanctions against foreigners will be determined by the Directorate General of Immigration.

"Earlier, the direction from the Directorate was to check how it is done first. Later, the examination will be completed, we will report it to the Directorate, later the Directorate will conclude whether or not you want to be imposed (sanctions)," explained Oktinardo.

According to him, the foreigner from Saudi Arabia has the potential to be subject to sanctions under Article 75 of the 2011 Immigration Law on Deportation and Anti-Corruption.

"For the time being like that. But we are still deepening whether or not he is the perpetrator in the video, we will deepen it first," he said.

Cisarua Police Chief Kompol Eddy Santosa explained that the mosque marbot incident involved in a commotion with foreigners took place at the Al Muqsit Mosque, Cisarua, Bogor Regency, on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

The video of the commotion at the Puncak Bogor mosque then went viral after it was spread on social media. After going viral, his party immediately communicated with the Al Muqsit Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM).

Eddy revealed the chronology of the noise between foreigners and the marbot of the mosque in Puncak Bogor that occurred at around 17.50 WIB. At that time the marbot of the mosque with the initials R alias Jenggot was sweeping the terrace of the mosque. Then, a foreigner came into the terrace of the mosque without taking off his shoes.

Meanwhile, at the entrance, a shoe rack and holy boundary writing have been provided.

"However, these foreign nationals do not heed," said Eddy.

Seeing foreigners entering without taking off their shoes, Jenggot immediately reprimanded him with the intention that the foreign tourist would take off his shoes.

"However, the warning was ignored until there was a quarrel and the foreigner pushed the mosque guard," he explained.

The mosque finally accepted the incident gracefully and did not take the matter to court.
