Arguing Leads To Death Of Muna ASN Murder In Kendari Hotel Room, There Are 21 Stab Wounds

JAKARTA - The Kendari City Police (Polresta) revealed the motive for the murder of the state civil apparatus (ASN) of the Muna Regency Government with the initials AKB at a hotel, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi.

Kendari Police Chief Kombes Eko Widiantoro said a perpetrator with the initials N, a resident of Batuaiworu District, Muna Regency, was arrested.

"The victim and the perpetrator have been friends for a long time. They are from Muna and have known each other for a long time," said Kombes Eko Widiantoro as quoted by ANTARA, January 13.

Based on the perpetrator's statement, he said, the case was triggered by an offense between N and the victim.

"Based on temporary information from suspect N, this incident began with an argument that caused offense," he said.

From the results of the post-mortem on the victim's body, according to him, there were 21 wounds caused by slashes and sharp weapons stabs. The wounds were found in several parts of the victim's body, including fatal injuries to the neck.

"From the results of the post-mortem, 21 stab wounds were found. Maybe in plain view, but after the post-mortem examination, there were quite a lot of them," said Kombes Eko Widiantoro.

In carrying out the action, he said, the perpetrators used a sharp weapon of the type of kerambit found at the scene. However, the possession of the sharp weapon is still being investigated further by the police.

"Does this sharp weapon belong to the perpetrator, victim, or other party? We are still investigating it," he said.

According to the perpetrator's statement, he continued, the action began with the first stab in the victim's neck. At that time the victim had fought back, followed by several stabs in the victim's body.

"The suspect admitted to stabbing the victim in the neck first. When the victim fended off, there was resistance so that other injuries were found in the victim's hands," he said.
