The Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Deputy Message To Pramono-Rano: Get Jakarta Out Of The List Of Cities With The Worst Pollution In The World

JAKARTA - The Jakarta KPUD has officially appointed the elected Governor and Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung - Rano Karno. Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno hopes that Pramono-Rano can prioritize the handling of Jakarta's air pollution, which in recent years has worsened.

"Of course we congratulate my brothers Pramono Anung and Rano Karno. Second, we hope to immediately prioritize strategic steps to overcome the deteriorating air pollution in Jakarta," said Eddy, Saturday, January 11.

The Deputy Chairperson of PAN said that Jakarta had several times received the title of the city with the highest level of pollution in the world. Therefore, the message for Pramono-Rano is to find a way to get Jakarta out of the list of cities with the worst air quality. According to him, this could be a quick win for Pramono-Rano's leadership.

"It takes courage, synergy and strong political commitment to overcome Jakarta pollution. This includes aligning the provincial government's policies with the central government. Jakarta should no longer be on the list of cities with the worst air pollution in the world," he continued.

Still related to pollution problems, the UI Political Science Doctor also asked Pramono-Rano to pay more broad attention to addressing Jakarta's environmental problems. According to Eddy, there is a wider perspective from leaders and bureaucracy in Jakarta, that environmental problems are the impact of the increasingly hunting climate crisis.

"For example, Rob's flooding some time ago was the impact of the rising sea level climate crisis and land subsidence in Jakarta. Therefore a comprehensive solution is needed so that it does not become a recurring disaster from year to year," concluded this member of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the Bogor City electoral district and Cianjur Regency.
