JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has opened an investigation into the receipt of gifts or promises related to the case management of former President Commissioner of PT Lippo Group Eddy Sindoro.

This was done after the KPK found sufficient preliminary evidence from the facts of the investigation and trial.

"Currently, the Corruption Eradication Commission has raised the status of corruption investigation in the form of allegations of receiving gifts or promises related to case management from ES (Eddy Sindoro), et al," said Acting KPK spokesperson for prosecution Ali Fikri in a written statement, Friday, April 16.

In addition, the anti-graft commission also found preliminary evidence related to the alleged receipt of gratuities and money laundering (TPPU).

This application was carried out because of the alleged change in form and disguise from the alleged proceeds of corruption to the purchase of economic value assets such as property or other assets.

Even so, Ali has not disclosed who the parties were identified as suspects in this case.

"If the investigation activities are sufficient, the KPK will inform the parties who have been named as suspects. However, we ensure that any developments regarding the investigation of this case will always be conveyed to the public," he said.

For information, Eddy Sindoro made bribes amounting to 50 thousand United States dollars and Rp150 million. This gift was made to handle two company civil cases at the Central Jakarta District Court.

This bribe was given to delay the process of implementing the anmaning against PT Metropolitan Tirta Perdana or PT MTP and to accept PT Across Asia Limited or PT AAL's review registration even though the deadline stipulated by law had passed. This bribe reached Rp. 500 million.

In developing this case, the KPK also appointed former Secretary of the Supreme Court Nurhadi and his son-in-law, Rezky Herbiyono.
