Prabowo Calls His Mother A Christian: I'm Proof Of The Pancasila Family

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto said he was a product of the Pancasila family. Because his family members adhere to different religions. He made this statement during a speech at the National Christmas Commemoration at the Indonesia Arena, GBK, Jakarta, Saturday, December 28.

It started when Prabowo mentioned that he was familiar and understood about family gatherings which became one of the traditions in celebrating Christmas. The reason is that he was born to a mother, Dora Marie Sigar, who is a Christian.

"I understand this because many of my family are Krisitiani. I was also born to a Christian mother," said Prabowo.

Thus, Prabowo called himself proof of the Pancasila family. Because, even though there are differences, they remain united. "So maybe I can say that this is evidence from the Pancasila family," he said.

In his speech, Prabowo also had time to tell that his mother and father, Soemitro Djojohadikusumo, who had different beliefs had indeed fought. However, never mentioned religion.

"If my parents fight, it's never about religion, if they fight sometimes. The proof is that they succeed, their son becomes President of the Republic of Indonesia," said Prabowo, who was greeted with applause from the audience.

Apart from that, Prabowo stated that Indonesia is a great country. In the midst of many differences, unity is still upheld.

"One of the greatness of the Indonesian nation, an Indonesian nation's luminosity is that we can unite, we can live in harmony, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. This is the greatness of the Indonesian nation," said Prabowo.
