KPK Extends RJ Lino's Detention Period

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) extended the detention period of former President Director of PT Pelindo II Richard Joost Lino or RJ Lino.

This extension is done because investigators are still working to investigate the alleged corruption of the procurement of three units of Quay Container Crane (QCC) by PT Pelindo II.

"For the investigation process, the investigating team extended the RJL detention period", KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said in a written statement on Wednesday, April 14.

This extension is valid for 40 days from April 15th to May 24th. RJ Lino is currently being held in detained at the KPK Detention Center, KPK Red, and White House Branch.

Previously reported, KPK attempted to resolve the filing of RJ Lino's case. Moreover, the investigation of this case has been stalled for five years.

In this case, RJ Lino has been designated as a suspect since December 2015. However, the detention was only made five years later or on Friday, March 26.

He allegedly made a direct appointment to a Chinese company namely HuaDong Heavy Machinery (HDHM) in the procurement of three QCC units at PT Pelindo II.

For his actions, RJ Lino is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st Penal Code.
