JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Association of Muslim Hajj and Umrah Organizers of the Republic of Indonesia (DPP AMPHURI), Firman M. Nur, emphasized that AMPHURI as a travel association from the start was not only focused on Hajj and Umrah trips. However, AMPHURI is also concerned about Muslim tourism activities, especially inbound travel. Therefore, AMPHURI is committed to developing Muslim tourism by bringing in tourists from all parts of the world, especially the Middle East region.

"Alhamdulillah, in addition to taking care of special Hajj and Umrah trips, AMPHURI is also concerned about developing Muslim tourism in Indonesia. In our management, there are also areas that focus on tourism," said Firman M. Nur in his presentation at the Talkshow AMPHURI Transformation of Hajj-Umrah to Middle East, Turkey, and Africa Inbound Tourism Hub, which was organized by AMPHURI and the Trisakti Tourism Institute in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 18.

Therefore, said Firman, AMPHURI and business networks around the world will continue to collaborate in bringing in tourists from abroad. Several cooperation programs with strategic partners have been running, including several operator tours from the Turkish region, Egypt, Dubai, to countries in the Balkan region.

"AMPHURI recently explored cooperation with a number of tour operators from the Middle East region to the Balkan countries. In fact, God willing tomorrow we will receive a tour of operators from Bosnia," said Firman.

According to Firman, Jakarta has enormous potential to become a tourist hub from abroad, especially in the Middle East region which has been a destination market for AMPHURI in the Umrah plus program. In the future, AMPHURI will take advantage of this potential by cooperating with a number of stakeholders, especially in developing human resources to answer Jakarta's challenges as a world tourism hub.

"Support is no less important than the government, in this case the regional government of DKI Jakarta, in terms of policies that have partiality to the world of Muslim tourism businesses," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tourism Industry Division of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Iffan, welcomed the efforts made by AMPHURI and Trisakti in realizing Jakarta as a world tourism hub.

"God willing, Dispar DKI is very supportive of AMPHURI and Trisakti's efforts. Hopefully, what AMPHURI has done can also be followed by other associations, so that we can all make Jakarta a tourist hub. Moreover, next year, Jakarta will enter the age of five centuries which is filled with many tourist programs," he said.

In line with this, Agie Pradipta, as an academic at the Trisakti Tourism Institute, in his presentation conveyed the same support for AMPHURI's breakthrough in taking the opportunities and challenges of the Indonesian tourism world. Agie emphasized that the Trisakti Tourism Institute with all its capabilities and competencies is ready to synergize with AMPHURI to develop human resources in the tourism travel sector.

"Trisakti is ready to support AMPHURI's efforts in preparing professional personnel through various cooperation programs that we started today," he said.

On the same occasion, AMPHURI and the Trisakti Tourism Institute signed a memorandum of understanding about the development of education for Hajj and Umrah travelers who are members of AMPHURI.
