Governor Of South Sulawesi Launches Indonesia Satu Ekspor, Send Fish Abroad

MAKASSAR - Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman launched the Indonesia Satu Ekspor program. Andi Sudirman released the export of fishery commodities at the Center for Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Safety of Makassar Fisheries Products.

Governor appreciated the implementation of fishery exports to several countries conducted by the Center for Fish Quarantine and Quality Control and Safety of Fisheries Products Makassar. Considering the considerable value of its exports.

"We express our deepest appreciation to the Center for Quarantine of fisheries that have carried out this activity, which is worth a tremendous yes, 97 billion for today's activities and this certainly involves local companies", said Andi Sudirman, Wednesday, April 14.

The Provincial Government of South Sulawesi will continue to support the export efforts of fish commodities, especially in increasing export products from several regions in South Sulawesi.

One form of government support said Andi Sudirman, is by trying to build communication with the Ministry of Transportation, PT Angkasa Pura, and other related parties to bring direct flights from Makassar to various export destinations.

"This is what we follow up so that the exporters are free, many options to send everywhere. We need to increase transport capacity, and we know Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia like all seafood", he said.

Meanwhile, Head of The Center for Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fisheries Products Makassar Sitti Chadidjah said, South Sulawesi is a province with a very large fishery production. Even South Sulawesi is also a commodity hub for fishery exports to eastern Indonesia.

In launching Indonesia Satu Ekspor, Chadidjah exported 20 types of fish commodities or as many as 71,555 fish, with a shipping volume of 2,075.8 tons. Export value amounted to IDR97 billion or $6.9 million in the period April 12-17 .

"Even in the midst of the COVID pandemic, this figure shows enormous potential in South Sulawesi. Indonesia Satu Ekspor program launched today triggers great economic growth, especially in South Sulawesi", she explained.

Chadidjah added that the high production of fishery exports is also seen from the export data of fishery commodities in 2020, where volume exports amounted to 158,050 tons with an economic value of IDR5.47 trillion. Various types of fishery commodities exported mainly seaweed, shrimp, tuna, octopus, and several other commodities
