Setyo Budiyanto Ensures The Pursuit Of KPK Fugitives, Not Except Harun Masiku

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) elected Setyo Budiyanto confirmed that he would arrest the former PDI-P legislative candidate (PDIP), Harun Masiku, who is still at large. This effort is one of the new leadership targets after being sworn in in mid-December.

Setyo is known to have visited the KPK Office to fulfill the invitation as a new leader in the opening of the 2024 World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia). In addition, there was also Fitroh Rohcahyanto who was elected as Deputy Chair of the KPK.

"Yes, of course it will be our target later. Hopefully, yes, we can do some of the targets that have not been caught as much as possible," Setyo told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, December 9.

Setyo said that the search for Harun and other fugitives who have been on the wanted list (DPO) has always been carried out by the KPK. Including, when he was the Director of KPK Investigations.

"Earlier, the problems of several DPOs were also an effort, for, yes, since we were here, actually we are also trying hard," he said.

However, this search effort certainly needs help from all parties. The hope is that Harun Masiku can be caught soon.

"Obviously we also hope for the support of all parties. The sooner of course the better," said Setyo.

As previously reported, Commission III of the DPR chose five names of KPK leaders for the period 2024-2029. As the Chair of the KPK is Setyo Budiyanto.

Meanwhile, the representatives were Fitroh Rohcahyanto, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, Johanis Tanak, and Agus Joko Pramono. They were selected after carrying out a fit and proper test.
