Jokowi Signs Presidential Holiday With 1 Day For ASN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) signed Presidential Decree No. 7 of 2021 on the determination of leave with ASN employees. ASN gets 2 days off for 2021 as much as two days, including one day on May 12.

"Establishing leave with civil servants in 2021, namely on May 12, 2021 (Wednesday) as a holiday with Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri and December 24, 2021 (Friday) as a holiday with Christmas," as quoted from a copy of Presidential Decree No. 7 of 2021, Tuesday, April 13.

In the second dictum of the Presidential Decree, the government stated that the shared leave granted by the government does not reduce the right to asn annual leave.

So in the third dictum mentioned that ASN who do not get the right to shared leave because of his position, will get additional annual leave rights in accordance with the number of shared leave that is not granted.

"This Presidential Decree comes into force on the date set," reads the fourth dictum of the Presidential Decree signed by Jokowi on Friday, April 9, quoted by Antara.

Previously, the government officially banned homecoming activities on 6 - 17 May 2021 to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Transportation stopped the operation of transportation modes both land, sea and air during the prohibition period, except for some activities such as logistics delivery, official travel, emergency needs of health services and other urgent interests.

The ban is contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number PM 13 of 2021 concerning Transportation Control During Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri In Order to Prevent the Spread of Covid-19.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi previously mentioned that if the government does not ban homecoming, then there will be 81 million people who will return home ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri.
