Pramono Anung: Jakarta Governor Election Must Be A Role Model, Sure There Is No Force For 2 Rounds

JAKARTA - Candidate for governor of Jakarta number 3, Pramono Anung believes that all parties respect the results of the Jakarta gubernatorial election. No party is trying to force this contestation to be held in two rounds.

"I always have a positive view of prejudice, because the open mechanism is certainly not easy for people to force and this is a democratic country, everyone is now supervising it," Pramono told reporters in Jakarta, Sunday, December 8.

Pramono said the mechanism carried out by the Jakarta KPU was also transparent. Thus, it is difficult for anyone to change the results except through a predetermined route such as suing the results at the Constitutional Court (MK).

"And I believe no one will force it. It will definitely respect whatever results are in the KPUD which are transparent," he said.

"But if you really want to use political steps or legal steps, this is a democratic country," continued the former Cabinet Secretary of the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Furthermore, Pramono also hopes that the Jakarta gubernatorial election can be a reference for other regions. Because in its implementation the escalation of tensions caused is not too high.

"I certainly give respect and any appreciation that is done to clarify the process of selecting the governor of Jakarta," he said.

"Because for me personally the election for the governor of Jakarta is certainly expected to be a role model for other regions because it is carried out cheerfully, transparently, openly and this is the first time the election for governor in Jakarta has not been too high," concluded Pramono.
