KPK Auctions 31 Luxury Bags Rafael Square, Hermes Birkin For IDR 241 Million

JAKARTA - In commemoration of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) on December 10, 2024, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will auction off 31 luxury bags belonging to corruption convict Rafael Alun Trisambodo.

These bags are looted goods from cases of gratification and money laundering (TPPU).

The bags come from various well-known brands such as Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, and Dior. One of the most expensive bags to be auctioned is the gray Hermes Birkin with a value of Rp. 241 million.

The KPK ensures that all bags being auctioned have been verified by experts in collaboration with the institution.

"Before the auction, these bags have been checked by experts to ensure their authenticity. Counterfeit goods will not be auctioned off and have been destroyed," said the prosecutor for the execution of the KPK, Syarkiyah, Friday, December 6.

In addition to Rafael Alun's luxury bags, looted goods from various other corruption cases will also be auctioned off at this event. Syarkyah emphasized that this step is a form of transparency and accountability of the KPK in utilizing the looted goods resulting from corruption.

This year's Hakordia is a moment to remind the importance of eradicating corruption while at the same time utilizing assets resulting from crimes for the public interest.
