DKI KPU Affirms Rekap Continues Despite Reports To DKPP

JAKARTA - Commissioner of the DKI Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) Fahmi Ziryptaah stated that the vote recapitulation process at the provincial level will continue despite reports from the candidate pair (paslon) Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) to the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP).

"I don't think there is any influence. Indeed, there are reports from the candidate pair team who reported to the DKPP but did not hinder the recapitulation process," Fahmi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, December 6.

The vote recapitulation process at the provincial level is scheduled to take place on 7-9 December 2024.

Fahmi said that the DKI KPU still appreciates reports from the DKI Jakarta governor and deputy governor candidate team number 1. The DKI Jakarta KPU will study the object of the report.

"We will see later what is the object of the report, we will study it and of course we will prepare an answer to the report," said Fahmi.

Fahmi also answered regarding claims that the KPU was the cause of the low level of public participation in the DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which took place on November 27, 2024 due to a notification of the C form factor.

"We are still recapitulating, yes, recapitulating. Later each city has also conveyed it to the province. Later we will convey what percentage C is not distributed to the public," explained Fahmi.

Furthermore, Fahmi emphasized, C the notification is only informing. So that there is no influence and cannot be used as an excuse for the low level of participation.

Previously, Representatives from the RIDO Muslim Jaya Law Division Team, Butar Butar, revealed that his party reported the KPU to the DKPP covering two parties who were deemed to have violated the principles of professionalism, namely members of the KPU of DKI Jakarta Province and the KPU of East Jakarta City.

Muslims assess that the election organizers do not work professionally in optimizing voter participation.

"We report on the process of holding elections that we value are problematic, especially in Jakarta. We report the Chair and members of the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU as well as the Chair and members of the East Jakarta KPUD," said Muslim at the DKPP Office, Central Jakarta, Thursday (5/11).
