Members Of The North Kalimantan DPRD Ask For The Construction Of The Bebatu Port In Tana Tidung To Be Continued

TANJUNG SELOR - Member of Commission I of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Herman, questioned the government's seriousness in building a port in Bebatu Village, Sesayap Hilir District, Tana Tidung Regency. This is because the port, which began to be built in 2015, has not been completed.

This port is projected to function as a port of goods, a ferry port and a speedboat.

"We deeply regret that the construction of the port has not been completed, we hope that the local government together with the relevant Ministries can continue," said Herman, Wednesday, December 4.

The legislator of the National Awakening Party (PKB) from Tana Tidung Regency said the port in Bebatu Village had a positive impact on the economic progress of Tana Tidung and the surrounding area.

"Apart from Tana Tidung, this port also helps distribute goods to the nearest district area," said Herman, who is also the chairman of the North Kalimantan PKB DPW.

"Like Malinau to the Nunukan Regency area, namely Sebuku, Lumbis and its surroundings," he continued.

He explained, since Kaltara Province was formed, the government has only built a basic port structure even though the planning has been started since Kaltara was still in the province of East Kalimantan (Kaltim)

"This port should have been able to operate, especially since access roads have been built with pretty good conditions," he explained.

Herman said his party together with the commission in charge at the Kaltara DPRD would discuss the issue by inviting the Kaltara Provincial Government through the relevant regional apparatus organizations (OPD) at the Kaltara Provincial Government.

"We want to know how the progress includes the budget capacity of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government," he said.
