Banten BPBD Records 8,717 Flood-affected People In Pandeglang

SERANG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Banten Province reported that 8,717 people or 2,374 families (KK) in Pandeglang Regency had been affected by the floods that had occurred since Monday, December 2.

"We recorded that 8,717 residents in Pandeglang Regency were affected by flooding, based on temporary data as of Tuesday (3/12) at 19.00 WIB," said the Head of BPBD Banten, Nana Suryana, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 4.

Nana revealed that Patia District was the most affected area, with 1,142 families or 4,568 people living in seven villages/kelurahan. In addition, Sindangresmi District was recorded with 651 families or 2,504 people, while Cikeusik District reported 382 families or 1,071 people affected.

Villages/kelurahan in Cikeusik District are also the most affected areas with 10 flooded areas.

Not only in Pandeglang Regency, hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, landslides, and extreme weather also hit Lebak Regency which affected 1,201 families, Serang Regency involving 598 families or 2,275 people, and Serang City with one KK affected.

In addition to the impact of the flood, Nana said that this disaster also caused infrastructure damage. "This disaster resulted in damage to six Islamic boarding schools, two broken bridges, as well as damage to road and vehicle access," he added.

BPBD also reported that one victim died as a result of this hydrometeorological disaster. Currently, BPBD continues to make efforts to deal with disasters and help affected residents.
