Indecent Act on Female Students, Head of Islamic Boarding School in Serang Banten Hides in House Ceiling While Being Searched by Residents

BANTEN - The police have successfully secured the leader of the traditional Bani Ma'mun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) suspected of molesting a female student in Kampung Badak, Gembor Udik Village, Cikande, Serang Regency, Banten Province.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Condro Sasongko said that the leader of the Islamic boarding school with the initials KH has now been secured and is still under intensive examination at the Serang Police Headquarters.

"The leader of the Islamic boarding school who is suspected of committing immoral acts was successfully secured when he was hiding on the ceiling of a resident's house a few moments after the vandalism incident occurred," he said in Serang, Antara, Monday, December 2.

From the video circulating in the community, residents stormed the house of the alleged perpetrator with the initials KH. The glass and building were damaged by the masses who were venting their anger. The vandalism incident was triggered by the leader of the Islamic boarding school committing indecent acts against a female student.

Residents also damaged semi-permanent buildings. The residents' actions in vandalizing the Ponpes occurred on Sunday afternoon. Not only did they destroy the entire kobong and the place of the Islamic boarding school leader, the mob also burned two gazebos that stood between the kobong.

He said that the current condition at the location was conducive and the community was asked to remain calm.

"The current condition is under control, the roof tiles and some of the walls are damaged, there was a hut that was burned and was successfully extinguished by officers, we also ask the community to remain calm," he said.
