The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Kuching said that all the bodies of Indonesian citizens (WNI) from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who died in an accident on Wednesday, November 21 had been successfully repatriated from Sarawak, Malaysia, to Indonesia.
Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia (Konjen) Kuching Raden Sigit Witjaksono said, two of the seven bodies of Indonesian citizens, namely Masirah (50) and Jumahir (43) from East Lombok, at 08:30 local time (07:30 WIB) had arrived at the Entikong State Border Post (PLBN) in West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).
The body of the resident from NTB will arrive in Pontianak in the evening, to be flown to Jakarta. The repatriation of the bodies will continue the next day by being flown from Jakarta to NTB, for further delivery to his hometown.
Sigit said he was grateful that the process of returning the seven bodies had been completed smoothly. "God willing, it will be safe until the destination is in the hometown of each of the deceased".
"Thank you also, especially for the kindness of donors in Sarawak who have helped all the costs of returning the bodies and also to all relevant parties including the Sarawak authorities, starting from the Sarikei IPD Police who handled the accident, Hospital Sarikei, Health Office, Sarawak State Registration Position," said Sigit in a statement received in Kuala Lumpur, Antara, Friday, November 29.
He also expressed his gratitude to the relevant authorities in Indonesia starting from the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI), the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Agency (BP3MI) Mataram, the NTB Provincial Government Manpower Service, village heads or hamlets of each region who have prepared the receipt and delivery of bodies to the area of the deceased.
