Israeli Attack Kills 26 Citizens In Gaza Strip

JAKARTA - Israeli military attacks killed 26 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Israeli forces stepped up bombings in the central region and tanks moved further north and south of the area.

The attack on Thursday, November 28 comes a day after Iran-backed Israel and Hezbollah began a ceasefire in Lebanon, stopping hostilities that have been going on for more than a year.

Lebanese ceasefire raised hopes among many Palestinians in Gaza of a similar agreement with Hamas, which controls the area.

Israeli military operations with the aim of eradicating Hamas militants after the group's deadly attack in southern Israel on October 7, 2023, destroyed an area of 2.3 million people.

"I hope the ceasefire will happen as happened in Lebanon. I just want to take my children to see my land, my house, to see what they do to us, I want to live safely," said Amal Abu Hmeid, a refugee woman in Gaza.

"God willing, we will hold a ceasefire," he said while sitting in the courtyard of the school that houses the refugee family in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

The page is filled with soil and running water from where people wash clothes. Clothing is distributed outside the classroom while children play nearby.

(Life) is beautiful (before the war). Now nothing beautiful, everything is gone. Our home is gone, our brothers and sisters are gone, and nothing is left. Now we almost didn't get one meal a day we couldn't even get the bread," Abu Hmeid told Reuters.
