Corruption Losses For The Riau Islands TVRI Studio Project Reaches IDR 9 Billion

The Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Kepri) received the results of an audit by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) regarding state losses in the alleged corruption case of the LPO TVRI Kepri studio construction work for the 2022 budget year amounting to Rp 9 billion.

"Based on the report on the results of the audit of the calculation of state financial losses that have been carried out by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency in the case, it was found that there were irregularities that caused state financial losses of around Rp. 9 billion," said Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasipenkum) of the Riau Islands Attorney General's Office as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 25.

Yusnar explained that the results of the BPK audit were received directly by the Assistant for Corruption Crimes at the Riau Islands Prosecutor's Office, Mukharom, representing Kajati Kepri in Jakarta.

This case started with a public report, followed up by the Kepri Prosecutor's Office Intelligence Team by conducting a field review.

From the results of the review, it was found that there were allegations of irregularities, so that the handling was exposed and submitted to the Special Crimes (Pidsus) of the Riau Islands Prosecutor's Office.

On February 7, 2024, an investigation was carried out to find criminal elements, by examining a number of parties.

From the results of the investigation, exposure was carried out and the status of the case went up to the investigation stage.

"Starting April 1, the case will go up to the investigation stage. A total of 30 witnesses have been examined," said Yusnar.

Yusnar said that on October 30, 2024, the examinee with the initials HT had returned some state financial losses to the Investigative Team amounting to SGD 45.000 or around Rp527.193,000,-

After receiving the results of the BPK audit, he said, investigators immediately determined the suspect in the case.

According to the expectations of the Head of the Riau Islands Prosecutor's Office, Teguh Subroto, by submitting the documents resulting from calculating state financial losses in this case, it is an important moment in an effort to optimize the eradication of corruption, especially in the Riau Islands Province.

Cooperation between the BPK and the Prosecutor's Office, he said, could create a more transparent and accountable system in the public sector and accelerate the performance of the Prosecutor's Office in handling and eradicating corruption.

"The Riau Islands Prosecutor's Office of Special Investigation Team will immediately examine and determine the suspect in the case," said Yusnar.
