Bambang Brodjonegoro This Response Is About Prabowo Not To IKN Even Though He Has Been President For A Month

JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto has served as President of the Republic of Indonesia for 1 month from the time he was sworn in on Sunday, October 20, 2024. However, until now there has been no information regarding when the number one person in Indonesia will visit the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).

Moreover, when Prabowo delivered his state speech after the inauguration at the Kura-kura Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20, he did not discuss the continuation of the 7th mainstay megaproject development of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo or Jokowi.

So, when will Prabowo make a working visit or just visit the new capital city?

Presidential Special Advisor for Economics and National Development Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro also opened his voice. Bambang assessed that currently the discussion on IKN was entirely in Basuki Hadimuljono's hands, who is the Head of the IKN Authority.

According to Bambang, by appointing Basuki as Head of the IKN Authority, the construction of the new capital city will continue.

"Nan, with Mr. Basuki as the head of IKN, means that IKN will continue," Bambang told VOI when met after attending the 17th STIE Indonesia Banking School (IBS) Graduation event in the Mampang area, South Jakarta, Saturday, November 23.

When asked further when Prabowo's plan to visit IKN was, Bambang did not know. "I don't know, that's it," he concluded.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed that the development of IKN in East Kalimantan was not a priority in the era of President Prabowo Subianto's leadership.

Dody said that his party was asked to support the food self-sufficiency program in order to prepare Indonesia's food security. The reason is, the current global economic condition is also volatile.

"Oh, there has been no (challenging about IKN during cabinet meetings). IKN is still the priority, right, now self-sufficiency in food," Hanggodo told reporters at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 29.

The man who has a business background explained that his party was asked to build infrastructure that supports the performance of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) to encourage Indonesian food production.

"The obligation (Ministry) to support the President (Prabowo) is self-sufficiency in food, meaning support from the Ministry of Agriculture. Including, water self-sufficiency," he said.
