Lebanon Praises Netanyahu's Arrest Letter: The Era Of Crime Will End

JAKARTA - Lebanon praised the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) which issued an arrest warrant for Israel's chief government authority Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense chief Yoav Gallant.

Lebanese Foreign Ministry said the ICC decision reaffirmed international legitimacy, principles of justice, and compliance with international humanitarian law.

The decision provides trust and security for people around the world by demonstrating the credibility and effectiveness of global institutions and courts, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry stressed that the ICC decision is a fundamental step towards achieving justice and as a firm condemnation of the crimes committed by Israel against civilians.

"The decision proves that the era of impunity for such crimes has ended," said a statement by the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Saturday, November 23.

Lebanon calls on the international community to uphold the principles of international justice in order to maintain global peace and security.

Israel has waged a genocide war in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Palestinians, Hamas, in October last year.

Israeli attacks killed more than 44,000 victims and injured more than 104,000 people.

Israel is also facing genocide cases at the International Court (ICJ) over its deadly war in Gaza.
