The Honorary Council of General Election Organizers (DKPP) has imposed sanctions in the form of dismissal of office to the Chairman of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Abdulan and his members Restu.

Chairman of the DKPP Heddy Lugito said the sanctions were based on the assessment of the facts revealed in the trial, by examining the complainant's statement, examining the answers, and examining all the evidence of the complainant's documents, the defendants, and related parties.

"DKPP concluded that DKPP has the authority to try complainant complaints, as well as defendant I (Restu) and defendant II (Abdulan) were proven to have violated the code of ethics and code of conduct of election organizers," said Heddy Lugito as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 19.

He mentioned that in the decision, his party granted the complainant's complaint for some, including imposing the last tough warning sanction and dismissal from the chairman position to Abdulan as Chairman of Bawaslu Konawe.

In addition, the latest stern warning and dismissal as the Coordinator of the Division for Handling Violations and Settlement of Disputes to Restu as a member of Bawaslu Konawe Regency.

"As of the time this decision was read out (the imposition of sanctions to the Chairman and Members of Bawaslu Konawe Regency)," he said.

Heddy Lugito also revealed that in the trial decision, Bawaslu ordered to carry out the decision to Abdulan and Restu with a maximum period of 7 days from the verdict.

"Ordered the General Elections Supervisory Agency to oversee the implementation of this decision," said Heddy Lugito.

It is known, apart from the Chairman and Members of Bawaslu, the decision also dismissed two commissioners of the Konawe Regency General Elections Commission (KPU) from their positions, namely Ijang Asbar as Chair of the Technical Division of Implementation and Ramadhan Riski Pratama as Chairman of the Legal and Supervision Division.

Based on the description of the facts of the trial, DKPP believes that the defendants were proven to have held a meeting and briefed the Chairperson and Member of PPK Routa in the 2024 General Election at a hotel on February 29, 2024 to make a shift or change in votes for the candidate for members of the Konawe Regency DPRD from PAN number 5 in the name of Refaldi Ferdinand so that he could be elected as deputy chairman of the Konawe Regency DPRD.
