7 People Died, 300 Houses Damaged In East Java Due To Malang Earthquake Shock

Damage to people's homes due to the Malang Earthquake (BNPB)

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 in the Malang district caused damage to house buildings in several areas of East Java.

BNPB (National Agency for Disaster Management) data as of 20.00 WIB, Saturday, April 10, recorded more than 300 houses damaged with different levels, from light to heavy.

BNPB collected several data from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in East Java (East Java) with a total of 11 houses severely damaged (RB), moderately damaged (RS) 194, and lightly damaged (RR) 126.

Interim records, 13 units of damaged homes but not yet determined the category of damage level. While some damage to public facilities, including educational facilities 11 units, government offices 7, worship facilities 6, RSUD 1 and boarding schools 1.

While the death toll, BNPB is still waiting for verification of data from BPBD.

Data of 7 deaths, 2 serious injuries, and 10 minor injuries. The death toll in Malang 3 people, Lumajang 2 and in the travel area Lumajang - Malang 2.

Head of Data, Information, and Communication Center of BNPB Raditya Jati said the injured victims were identified in Lumajang district.

Meanwhile, BPBD of Lumajang Regency informs about the evacuation point in Kali Uling Village, Tempur Sari District. BPBD is still collecting the number of people displaced at the evacuation site.

BPBD Trenggalek district informs about 13 units of damaged houses with a category of light to heavy. While the damage to other public facilities consists of boarding schools 1 unit, educational facilities 2, places of worship 2 and offices 3.
