Students Asked To Bark By Ivan Sugianto, His Family Still Experienced Trauma

SUBABAYA - Keluarga dan EN, pelajar SMAK Gloria 2 Surabaya, korban persekusi yang dilakukan oleh Ivan Sugianto mengalami trauma mendalam akibat insiden yang terjadi pada 21 Oktober 2024 dan sempat viral di media sosial. Kondisi ini dibesarkan oleh pertimbangan yang diterima keluarga sebelum penahan tersangka.

"Currently, the victim and his family are still recovering. They consulted with psychiatrists and psychologists to deal with the trauma they experienced," said the victim's family attorney, Reifon Cristabella, Sunday, November 17.

The victim's family hopes that all parties, including the community, will continue to oversee this case until it is finished in court. They want legal certainty to be enforced to prevent similar acts of violence against children in the future.

"Strict law enforcement is expected to provide a sense of security and justice, not only for victims, but also for the community," said Reifon.

Pascapenahanan Ivan Sugianto, the victim's family appreciated the quick steps taken by the police, especially the East Java Regional Police, in handling this case. The victim's family also thanked human rights activists and child protection who helped oversee this case.

"We hope that the escort will continue until the verdict is in court," said Reifon.

The victim's family hopes that law enforcement officers will take this case seriously, especially in applying the article to the suspect. Ivan Sugianto was charged with multiple articles, namely Article 80 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection and/or Article 335 of the Criminal Code paragraph (1) point 1. The maximum penalty for these articles is 3 years in prison.

However, the family feels that the threat of punishment to Ivan Sugianto needs to be reviewed. "With the threat of punishment under 5 years, there is a potential for the suspect not to be detained. We hope that the authorities can explore this case again, considering that there is an element of thuggery against minors," said Reifon.
