SEMARANG - The imperfect distribution system of Candidate for Governor Number 2, Ahmad Luthfi will eliminate the Farmer Card. This is also to encourage farmer productivity.
He conveyed this in the second debate of the 2024 Central Java Gubernatorial Election at the Majapahit Convention (MAC), Semarang, Central Java on Sunday, November 10 with the theme 'Building Infrastructure and Food Security in Central Java in Facing Climate Change and Improving the Quality of Life of the Community'.
"Okay, thank you, there are several things I need to convey, fertilizer in Central Java is sufficient, not lacking. In Indonesia, the Ministry has prepared 40 million tons plus 40 million tons is sufficient," said Ahmad Luthfi.
According to Luthfi, what is not going well is the distribution system.
"What is not enough is the distribution is not on target. From the distribution process then to street vendors then to farmers, what's wrong?," said Ahmad Luthfi.
Luthfi admitted that if he was elected in the Central Java Gubernatorial Election on November 27, 2024, he would eliminate the Farmer Card. "In the future, if Gus Yasin and I become Governor (Deputy Governor), I will abolish the Farmer Card," he said.
Ahmad Luthfi said that the abolition of the Farmer Card in Central Java Province is important to increase farmer productivity. "Why (abolish it)? To (improve) the current chaotic fertilizer management that is not on target," he asked.
He explained that the mechanism in the Farmer Card is not right and actually makes it difficult for farmers to get fertilizer.
"This is what needs to be fixed, the fertilizer distribution mechanism in the Central Java region," said the former Central Java Police Chief.
As is known, to get a farmer card, one of the requirements is that farmers must have a maximum business area of 2 ha for food crops, horticulture, and plantations.
"The problem is, the majority of farmers in Central Java are sharecroppers who do not have land," he explained.
Responding to the issue of the revocation of the Farmer Card, Candidate for Deputy Governor of Central Java Number 1 Hendrar Prihadi admitted that so far there have been crucial problems with fertilizer.
"I agree with what Mr. Luthfi said about fertilizer, that's right, this is homework," said the former Mayor of Semarang.
The problem of fertilizer, he explained, often becomes a problem when farmers enter the planting season, there is no fertilizer or it is difficult to buy it.
