JAKARTA - The Governor of Central Sulawesi was elected in the period 2021-2024 Rusdy Mastura declared Donggala Regency to be the center of breeding and development of Porang plants, to improve the economy of rural communities after more than two years of earthquakes and tsunami hit the district.

"Porang is one of the commodities that is expected to improve the welfare of farmers because it has high economic value and becomes the world's food needs", said Rusdy Mastura reported by Antara, Friday, April 9

The inauguration took place in Tambu Village, held at the opening of Porang seminar and development of the village and rural industrial estate (KID/P) attended by village heads, BPD heads, BUMD Directors, and several figures from five sub-districts namely Balaesang Tanjung, Balaesang, Dampelas, Sojol, and North Sojol, Monday, April 5.

The village and rural industrial areas as well as the Central Sulawesi Porang nursery center in Tambu Village were initiated by the Central Sulawesi Food Business Forum.

The inauguration was marked by the signing of the manuscript of the establishment and the symbolic handover of Porang seeds to five farmers representing five sub-districts in the northern Donggala region.

Rusdy Mastura said farmers do not have to worry about Porang marketing because he has opened access to several companies in South Sulawesi and java island that are ready to buy.

In fact, he said, he will also try to have a large industry that opens factories in the Special Economic Zone (KEK) Palu so that it can be directly exported to several countries in need.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of The Food Business Forum of Central Sulawesi who is also the initiator of the development of Village and Rural Industrial Estate Adha Nadjemuddin said village and rural industrial estates are the solutions to advance the economy in the village because the regional system has several advantages such as opening new jobs.

"The presence of processing industry in the area will recruit a lot of labor so that people in the village no longer need to think to the city looking for work or become workers in the area of people", said Adha.

He said KID/P will also increase the added value of products because commodities are processed in the region into finished or semi-finished materials through the industry.

Another advantage said Adha, through KID/P will improve the skills of the community in the village because the community will race to improve their skills in processing the resources available in the village into something of high value.

"This village industrial area will also encourage the development of infrastructure in the village, to support economic activity in the region", he said.

He is confident that the existence of industrial estates in the village will accelerate the construction of roads to pockets of production, even loading and unloading ports, transportation, and adequate electricity supply.

Next said Adha, KID/P will grow new industries in the village, especially the village potential-based processing industry.

This program also said Adha, will hack the abandoned land in the village because of the high need for raw materials so that it will spur the spirit of the community to use the abandoned land to be processed.

"It will automatically increase the village's original income through retribution and other legitimate income", he said.
