For The Sake Of Transparent Democracy, Commission II Of The DPR Supports The KPU To Socialize The Recap Mobile

JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, appreciates the innovation of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) which will use the Mobile Election Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap) application in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections. Rifqi supports the central KPU which socializes the use of Mobile Sirekap so that it can be used optimally in the 2024 Pilkada.

"This is part of our efforts to strengthen our constitutional democracy that is transparent, accountable, and professional," said Rifqinizamy, Friday, November 8.

Nevertheless, Rifqi said, based on KPU regulations and recommendations for the KPU's hearing (RDP) with Commission II of the DPR RI, the recap was not the main reference in terms of vote recapitulation.

"The recap is just a tool so that the performance of vote calculations by the KPU in stages starting from polling stations, sub-districts, districts, provinces to the center can really be carried out in a transparent and accountable manner," explained the NasDem Party legislator.

Meanwhile, member of the Indonesian KPU Betty Epsilon Idroos said, there were several improvements given by the KPU to Sirekap Mobile compared to the Sirekap version in the 2024 General Election.

For example, there are forms that have markers in columns and rows so that they can speed up the conversion of information systems from Sirekap Web.

Later, said Betty, the KPU will provide technical guidance to Sirekap Mobile users in the form of simulated videos using the application and 24-hour assistance services for confused users.

"We will prepare 24-hour helpdesk for our officers throughout Indonesia so that the use of this Mobile Sirekap can be optimal," said Betty.
