Economist Ichsanuddin Noorsy Examined Defamation Case Related To Bank Banten

JAKARTA - Economist Ichsanuddin Noorsy is examined as a witness in The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police. Noorsy was examined in the case of alleged defamation related to the case of Bank Banten.

"I was asked for information as a witness, in the case of Bank Banten which was originally a Bank In Special Supervision (BDPK) which then increased to intensive supervision because losses are increasing", Noorsy told reporters on Thursday, April 8.

But later, the problem of defamation arose. There are 16 questions asked by investigators of the Directorate of Cyber Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.

In the examination, Noorsy explained the construction of healthy ways of Bank Banten. As for defamation, he referred to three things, namely the legal opinion of the prosecutor about Bank Banten.

Second, the OJK's (The Financial Services Authority) decision to increase the special supervision bank into a bank under intensive supervision, and the third level of losses of Bank Banten is increasing.

According to Noorsy, the third point is crucial because he was once the one who was asked by the Banten Community Association to criticize how the development of Bank Banten.

"I feel responsible because from the beginning I said the problem of Bank Banten is a problem of capital and a problem of qualified human resources have a reputation, credibility is enough that I conveyed the construction", said Noorsy.

Noorsy was reported by Awal Syarifudin who claimed to be a person close to Banten governor Wahidin Halim.

According to Noorsy, there are two lawsuits of Banten Community Association related to Bank Banten, namely equally about the deposit of Regional regulation. But the first lawsuit has already been dropped by the plaintiffs.

In the first lawsuit, Noorsy continued, related to the OJK that declared Bank Banten under special supervision.

"It was sued in the issue of deposit of Banten Provincial Government to Bank Banten there is an obligation to deposit capital position", said Noorsy.

At that time, said Noorsy, both parties (plaintiffs and defendants) contacted him including Awal Syarifudin, but he did not give any answers or information related to Bank Banten.

"I'm just telling this plaintiff, then someone is calling. I don't know what that means. The party that sued that makes clarity and explanation", said Noorsy.

After undergoing information, Noorsy has not confirmed whether there is a follow-up examination related to the case of alleged defamation in Bank Banten.
