Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency Hari Nugroho ensured that the increase in the value of the Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2025 would be higher than the previous year.

Hari explained that this increase was based on a new regulation to formulate the amount of the UMP after the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) related to wages in the Job Creation Act.

"In the past, the alpha was determined from economic growth and inflation, yesterday the alpha was also from 0.1 to 0.3. Now the alpha index is 0.2 to 0.8. So automatically the figure has increased compared to last year's UMP," Hari told reporters, Thursday, November 7.

In determining the Jakarta UMP in 2024, the DKI Provincial Government used alpha 0.3. Thus, the 2024 UMP was set at IDR 5,067,381, an increase of IDR 165,583, an increase of 3.6 percent from the 2023 UMP.

However, before officially determining the increase in the UMP, the DKI Provincial Government will still discuss the formulation of its value with the Wage Council consisting of representatives of workers and business groups.

This UMP discussion will also involve the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Given, the wage system is also formulated from economic growth and inflation.

"At the latest on December 10, we will close it again. The important thing is that the UMP is set until November 21, then sectoral wages will be," he added.

Previously, a group of workers held a demonstration in front of the DKI Jakarta City Hall. They demanded that the DKI Jakarta UMP in 2025 increase by 10 percent or could reach Rp. 6 million from before.
