Landslides On Jalan Balai Rakyat Raya Matraman, 4 Electric Poles And Trees Fall

JAKARTA - Heavy rain since a few days ago caused land on Jalan Balai Rakyat Raya, Utan Kayu Utara Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta, to experience landslides.

The road section on the banks of the Utan Kayu River, precisely in front of the Matraman District office, East Jakarta, collapsed and could not be passed by vehicles.

The landslide incident occurred on Sunday night, November 3 at around 22.40 WIB. Apart from being caused by heavy rain, this landslide was also caused by the construction of a river normalization project that used heavy equipment.

So that the soil continues to be eroded by the flow of Kali water and vibrations due to heavy equipment.

Deputy Head of Matraman Sub-district, Husnul Fauzi, said that the landslide incident began with pouring rain from 16.00 WIB, on Sunday afternoon until evening.

"At 22.00 WIB, a tree fell along with a power pole, 4 collapsed, and the sidewalk was involved in a landslide," he said when confirmed, Monday, November 4.

At the time of the incident in the area, there was a sheet pile installation work.

"There were no casualties. Currently, the PPSU, LH, SDA and Bina Marga teams are being evacuated," he said.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta BPBD TRC officers conducted an assessment at the scene and coordinated the efforts that had been made.
