International Drug Network Dismantled In Aceh, 50 Kg Of Meth And 198 Kg Of Marijuana Seized

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Drug Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police together with Aceh Police uncovered two international syndicates of narcotics trafficking. Of these two syndicates, at least 50 kilograms of methamphetamine and 198 kilograms of marijuana were foiled.

Director of Drug Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police  Brig. Gen. Krisno Halomoan Siregar said, of the two drug trafficking syndicates a total of 13 suspects were secured.

For a meth syndicate, there are four suspects. They were arrested around East Aceh.

"Four suspects with the initials ZK and ZR act as road monitors, KR plays a role in monitoring situations on the ground, ZK acts as a speed boat driver", Brig. Gen. Krisno said in a statement on Thursday, April 8.

In smuggling methamphetamine, the syndicate used sea lanes in March 2021. They use a 30 GT boat or boat through the waters of East Aceh.

"From the search of the boat was found two sacks of white burlap containing 25 packages branded Qing Shan. Inside it turned out to be 50 kilograms of methamphetamine", he said.

As for the marijuana-type drug syndicate, a total of 9 suspects were arrested. They have the initials SA, HM, FT, AK, NA, IH, MJ, MH, and IL.

This disclosure began when there was information on the delivery of marijuana by the land route through Aceh. Moreover, based on previously received information there is also a shipment of 800 kilograms of marijuana.

"They were arrested in different locations in Banda Aceh and Pidie. This group is a network of marijuana-type drug trafficking from Aceh to Palembang, Jakarta, and Bogor", he said.

The suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph 2, Article 112 paragraph 2, subs Article 115 paragraph 2 junto Article 132 paragraph 1 Law 35 the year 2009. Thus, they face up to 20 years in prison.
