BMKG: 17 Regions In Indonesia Potentially Raining Today

JAKARTA - Most areas in Indonesia are predicted by the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to have the potential to experience rain, ranging from light to heavy rain on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

BMKG forecaster Bagas Briliano in the BMKG Weather Forecast video, said that there are 17 areas that have the potential to experience light rain.

"The area includes Medan, North Sumatra; Padang, West Sumatra; Pekanbaru, Riau; Palembang, South Sumatra; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan; Samarinda, East Kalimantan; and Manado, North Sulawesi," he said, as quoted by Antara.

Bagas said, light rain is also predicted to flush the Gorontalo area; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; Ternate, North Maluku; Sorong, West Papua; Nabire, Papua; Manokwari, West Papua; Jayapura, Papua; and Jayawijaya, Papua Mountains.

Furthermore, Denpasar, Bali, which is predicted to be hit by moderate rain and Lampung which is predicted to be hit by heavy rain.

Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning or lightning is predicted to hit the Tanjung Pinang area, Riau Islands; Jambi; Bengkulu; Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands; Serang, Banten; Jakarta; and Bandung, West Java.

Then, Semarang, Central Java; Yogyakarta; Surabaya, East Java; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan; Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Mamuju, West Sulawesi; and Makassar, South Sulawesi.

In addition to rain, BMKG also predicts cloudy weather conditions that can occur in a number of areas, namely Aceh; Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT); Ambon, Maluku; and Merauke, Papua.

According to Bagas, the weather information is a general picture of the weather in each region in Indonesia. He said the public could find out the latest information that had been updated every three hours on the BMKG Info application.
