JAKARTA - The Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Indonesia, Denis Chaibi, encourages higher education in Indonesia to be integrated with research activities and the world of work.
"To support Indonesia's Vision 2045, we need to build a higher education system that is more closely related to research and the world of work," said Chaibi at the 2024 European Higher Education Fair (European Higher Education Fair/EHEF) in Jakarta, Saturday (2/11).
To realize this goal, Chaibi offers cooperation between universities in Indonesia and universities in Europe, which generally have a more diverse research program.
"This is very important for Indonesia's future development," he added.
Chairi also stated that if Indonesia wants to achieve economic growth by 8 percent and achieves a high state of income by 2045, it is important to increase women's access to the world of work.
"In terms of gender equality, in Europe, we support this. In fact, the majority of scholarship recipients in Europe are women compared to men. This can also play a role in strengthening the Indonesian economy," he said.
Chaibi also invited Indonesian women to take the best education in Europe so that they could expand their skills and insights, which in the end would support Indonesia's progress.
