Member Of Baleg F-PDIP Encourages Land Bill To Enter Priority Prolegnas

JAKARTA - Member of the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR RI from the PDIP faction, Edi Purwanto, encourages the Land Bill (RUU) to be included in the priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). Because according to him, the current problems related to the Defense Law have not been resolved.

According to Edi, there needs to be a regulatory update in the Defense Law. Moreover, many problems arise related to the validity period of land use rights (HGU) which are considered too long.

"The content of Land Law Number 5 of 1960, Article 29 clearly regulates how long the HGU has been. That has also made a big problem for our nation. Moreover, HGU has emerged up to 190 years. How do we take sides with the people," said Edi at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, October 28.

Edi revealed that the pressure to include the Land Bill into priority Prolegnas was seen from several cases of land conflicts that occurred in several regions, including electoral districts (Dapil) in Jambi Province. According to him, Jambi occupies the second highest position in terms of land conflicts in Indonesia.

The former chairman of the Jambi DPRD for the 2019-2024 period also said that his party had formed a special committee (special committee) for land conflicts at the regional level. This step is claimed to have full support from various parties.

Therefore, Edi hopes that Baleg will respond positively to the proposed Land Bill to be included in the priority Prolegnas. He considered that the preparation of legal products that were truly able to answer the needs of the community was important. Moreover, he said, political policies in the DPR often had an unfavorable impact on the regions.

"The purpose of the regulation is goodness, happiness as great and reduced suffering. So when our legal product does not reflect that, I think something is wrong," explained Edi.

Edi also hopes for mutual awareness to continue to encourage policies that create benefits, a sense of justice, and legal certainty for the community.

"Hopefully our collective awareness can be maintained until the end of the period, so that the resulting legal products really take sides with the regions," he concluded.
