Cases Of Alleged Sexual Violence Involving Former Chancellor Of The University Of Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo Are Considered Slow

GORONTALO - The victim's attorney said the legal process for handling cases of sexual violence involving former Chancellor of the University of Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo (UNUGO) AH was considered slow.

The attorney for the victim Nismawaty Male in Gorontalo, Tuesday said that since the case was held on August 22, 2024, the handling of this case is still on the spot, even though his party as the reporter has met all requirements ranging from administrative completeness to presenting witnesses.

"Today the victim was again invited by the Gorontalo Police PPA investigators to be confronted with the reported witnesses," said Nismawaty.

In this activity, both parties were asked for information related to one of the series of events that had been reported.

According to him, the confrontation carried out should be related to the entire series of incidents, considering that witnesses have also been presented together with the victim and reported.

In addition, in the confrontation agenda, his client felt that there were a number of irregularities, but the victim thought that he would continue to seek justice and professional law enforcement in this case.

"Actually, we feel very bored with the handling of this case. We really hope that there will be definite legal provisions, considering that this case has not come to light," he said.

Meanwhile, when confirmed, the Head of Public Relations of the Gorontalo Police, Kombes Pol. Desmont Harjendro said the case was still under investigation.

In its handling, the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Gorontalo Police Ditreskrimum still has to collect information, including expert witnesses.
