The Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia confirmed the arrest of the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur in the murder case of Dini Sera Afriyanti in Surabaya, East Java, Sunday.

"Ronald Tannur was arrested at around 14:40 WIB in the Victoria Regency Surabaya housing complex," said Head of the Indonesian Attorney General's Legal Information Center Harli Siregar when confirmed by ANTARA from Jakarta, Sunday, October 27.

The arrest was the result of a collaboration between the East Java High Prosecutor's Investigation Team and the Surabaya District Attorney's Office.

Harli explained that the arrest was related to the implementation or execution of the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia in a criminal case of murder or maltreatment.

The Supreme Court granted the public prosecutor's appeal regarding the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur in the murder case of Dini Sera Afriyanti, by imposing a prison sentence of 5 years.

Thus, the Supreme Court canceled the verdict of the Surabaya District Court (PN), East Java, which previously sentenced Gregorius Ronald Tannur to acquittal.

The verdict: Kabul cassation of the public prosecutor, canceled judex facti, was quoted as saying from the Supreme Court Case Information page in Jakarta, Wednesday (23/10).

The Supreme Court stated that the alternative charges of the two public prosecutors that Gregorius Ronald Tannur violated Article 351 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code had been proven. Therefore, the defendant was sentenced to prison.

Prison for five years. Evidence = conform of the PN - P3 decision: DO," reads the verdict.

The decision was decided by the Chairman of the Soesilo Council and Member of Assembly 1 Ainal Mardhiah and Member of Assembly 2 Sutarjo, with the Registrar in Lieu of Yustisiana on Tuesday (22/10).

Previously, on Wednesday (24/7), Ronald Tannur, who is the son of an inactive DPR member Edward Tannur, was acquitted by a panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court, chaired by Erintuah Damanik, from the murder charges of Dini Sera Afriyanti.

On the verdict, Thursday (25/7), the Surabaya District Attorney declared an appeal. Meanwhile, Dini Sera's father and sister, Monday (29/7), reported the three judges who decided the case to the Judicial Commission for alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH).

Then, Monday (26/8), KY imposed permanent dismissal sanctions with pension rights on three judges who sentenced Ronald Tannur to acquittal. According to KY, the three judges reportedly violated the KEPPH.

Then, on Wednesday (23/10), the Attorney General's Office named three judges who acquitted Ronald Tannur as suspects in alleged bribery or gratification, namely ED (Erituah Damanik), HH (Heru Hanindyo), and M (Mangapul).

Director of Investigation at the Attorney General's Office of Jampidsus Abdul Qohar at a press conference at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta (23/10) said that apart from the three judges, investigators also named Ronald Tannur's lawyer with the initials LR as a suspect as the bribe giver.
