The Attorney General's Office Examines The Managing Director Of PT Master Steel Regarding The Corruption Of The MBZ Toll Road

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is examining the President Director (Director) of PT Master Steel with the initials IB related to the alleged corruption in the construction work of the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II Toll Road to West Karawang or MBZ.

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, said that the examination of one witness through the Investigating Prosecutor's Team at the Directorate of Investigation of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) in Jakarta, Friday (25/10).

"The examination is for the suspect DP as the Master of Operational Cooperation (KSO) for the MBZ Toll Project Contractor," said Harli in a confirmed statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

Kapuspenkum explained that the examination of witnesses was to strengthen the evidence and complete the filing in the case.

Previously, Jampidsus investigators at the Attorney General's Office examined the former Director General (Dirjen) of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation BS as a witness related to the case.

"Investigators are examining BS as Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation for the 2017 '2022 period," said Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday (3/10).

Apart from BS, investigators have also examined two other witnesses, namely JS as Chair and Member of the 2020 Provisional Hand Over (PHO) and HL as Head of the Traffic Engineering Management Sub-Directorate of the Ministry of Transportation for the 2018-2020 period and as Head of the Functionally Eligible Evaluation Team.

It is known that the involvement of the DP suspect in this case began when PT Jasamarga Jalan Layang Cikampek (JJC) signed a Toll Road Concession Agreement (PPJT) with the Toll Road Management Agency (BPJT) with an investment value of approximately Rp. 16 trillion.

In implementing the agreement, DP as KSO cooperates with FFB as PT Bukaka's representative to reduce the volume in the basic design without conducting a technical study first.

In addition, the suspect DP also indicated that PT JCC be declared the winner of the auction in collaboration with the President Director of PT JJC for the 2016-2020 period Djoko Djijono (DD) and the Chairman of the Auction Committee JJC Yudhi Mahyudin (YM).

After being determined as the winner, DP re-relaunched the volume without being supported by a study first so that it cost the state finances Rp510.1 billion.

For his actions, the suspect DP is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
