Seluma Prosecutor's Office Confiscates 19 Hectares Of Land After Determination Of Corruption Suspects

BENGKULU - The Seluma District Attorney (Kejari) confiscated and installed 19 hectares of land in four different locations in Sembayat Village, East Seluma District.

Head of the Special Crimes Section (Kasi) of the Seluma Kejari, Ahmad Ghufroni, said the confiscation was carried out after his party named four suspects in the alleged corruption case related to the Seluma Regency Government's land exchange in 2008.

"The installation of this stakes aims to provide information to the surrounding community that this land is still in legal proceedings," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 24.

The confiscation and installation of the land benchmark in Sembayat Village was escorted by members of the resort police (polres) attended by the Seluma Regency National Land Office (ATR/BPN) and others.

Gufroni said that the confiscation of assets belonging to the Seluma Regency Government (Pemkab) from the land rollout exchange case could take place cooperatively and efficiently.

Previously, on 14/10/2024, the Kejari named the former Seluma Regent, Murman Effendi, as a suspect in the corruption case of exchanging over land belonging to the Seluma Regency Government in 2008.

In addition to the former regent, his party also appointed former Regional Secretary (Sekda) namely Mulkan Tajuddin, Former Chairman of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Rosnaini Abidin and the former Head of the Regional Defense Agency (BPN) of Seluma Regency as suspects.

Regarding the alleged corruption case, his party has investigated more than 80 people, including officials within the Seluma Regency Government (Pemkab) and South Bengkulu Regency.

This was done because Seluma Regency was the result of expansion from South Bengkulu Regency.

Terkait penetapan empat orang tersangka dilakukan setelah dilakukan audit oleh Consultant Accountant Publik dan penilaian lahan oleh Kantor Jasa Penilai Publik, dengan total kerugian yang mencapai Rp19 miliar.

The alleged corruption was related to the case of overturning land belonging to the Seluma Regency Government in Sembayat Village, and land belonging to the former Regent of Seluma Murman Efendi who was on Jalan Pematang Aur in 2008.

The examination was carried out, because the Seluma Prosecutor's Office suspected that an illegal act had occurred, causing state losses related to the case.
