Not Just Jeju Island, Here Are Three Honeymoon Destinations Of Choice In South Korea

JAKARTA - There is no denying Jeju Island as a favorite and dream destination, for vacation and honeymoon in South Korea. Not only among South Koreans, Jeju's charm has also gone global.

However, it doesn't hurt to try other destinations that are no less beautiful and charming than Jeju. Based on the results of analysis of global search data over the past year, there are three destinations for honeymooning or just a vacation in South Korae, as reported by Koreatimes.

Geoje Island

Famous for its beautiful scenery, the entire Geoje Island located in South Gyeongsang Province can be a tourist destination.

Honeymooners are invited to drive on well-maintained coastal roads along the vast South Sea. In particular, the 17.3-kilometer section from Hakdong to Wahyeon Beach is famous for its beautiful scenery, where camellia forests, deep blue seas, and various islands are closely aligned to create incredible scenery.

When tourists drive while enjoying the view of the beach, they will see a beach with a long stretch of fine sand. Oedo Botania, an exotic marine botanical garden, is also recommended as it offers the perfect place to take pictures against the backdrop of the forest and sea.

Among local hotels, sono Calm Geoje's exterior attracts visitors, in addition to its neat interior, with rooms furnished with essential furniture and accessories, designed for guests' comfort. It features a water park called Ocean Bay, with an indoor sauna and a restaurant.

Yeosu

Yeosu, located in South Jeolla Province, became famous since indie band Busker Busker released the song, 'Yeosu Night Sea' in 2012, the same year the city hosted the Expo.

During the day, tourists can enjoy the natural beauty of Yeosu while riding the sea cable car at Dolsan Park and Dolsan Bridge. In the evening, it is highly recommended to take a light walk and enjoy the city view at night. The promenade from Yi Sun-sin Square to Jongpo Marine Park and Hamel Lighthouse offers romantic night views of the city and the sparkling sea.

Samcheok in Gangwon Province is located right next to the East Sea which is famous for its beautiful sea views. The seaside hill village, called Naritgol, is famous for its coloured old houses, allowing visitors to reminisce about the past while wandering around the village.

One of the must-see spots in Samcheok is 'Surfkiki', a part of Samcheok Beach famous for its clear sea and a variety of surfing programs. There are also fun sculptures such as Waikiki in Hawaii and a pine forest trail nearby to rest after surfing.
