Asked Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet Over Budget? Puan: Just Announced

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, attended the inauguration of the minister and head of the Red and White Cabinet agency in President Prabowo Subianto's administration today. He ensured that the DPR was ready to work together with the government to develop the country.

The inauguration of the minister of the Red and White Cabinet was held at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, Monday (21/10/2024). Puan was seen wearing a blue tunic matching the ties of the inaugurated ministers.

In addition to the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the inauguration of the ministers was also attended by the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the field of legal politics and ham (Polhukam) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and several other figures. After the inauguration ceremony, Puan seemed to shake hands and chat with President Prabowo.

Puan then congratulated the ministers who had been officially inaugurated, such as the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Budi Gunawan, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Health Budi Gunawan Sadikin. He was also seen chatting with Prabowo's son, Didit Hediprasetyo.

During an interview with the media at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, this afternoon, Puan was asked about the possibility of weighting the state budget because there were quite a lot of additional ministries in the Prabowo administration era.

"We'll see how the performance will be carried out by the upcoming cabinet. This is also a new announcement that we haven't done what has to be done," said Puan in response to questions from the media crew.

As is known, there were 48 ministers that Prabowo announced. Of the dozens of ministers, nine ministries were divided into 21 new ministries in the Prabowo era. In addition, there are 5 heads and 56 deputy ministers, bringing the total personnel in Prabowo's cabinet to 109 people.

Puan also mentioned the importance of providing opportunities for Prabowo's cabinet to carry out its vision and mission in running this new government wheel.

"We support it first. We'll see how it goes later, we'll see what happens with the addition of these ministries and agencies," said the first woman to serve as Chair of the DPR RI.

"So we both build Indonesia, how to make Indonesia more advanced, so it is better to be better known by international leaders through Parliament," concluded Puan.
