Taufik Hidayat Talks About Sports With Prabowo

JAKARTA - Former badminton athlete Taufik Hidayat revealed that he discussed sports with President-elect Prabowo Subianto on Jalan Kartanegara, South Jakarta.

"I was asked to help in his cabinet, and according to my field. What am I like? Minister of Law, huh? Haha, I am an athlete," Taufik said after meeting Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 15.

However, he was reluctant to answer firmly when asked whether he would serve as Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports for the next five years or not.

"I don't know. Later he (Prabowo, ed) will understand where. I will definitely come," he said.

Taufik said he had never communicated with Prabowo before today's meeting.

"Never. This is the first time. It was connected earlier at 14.20 WIB to Teddy. I was surprised, earlier in Salemba, how did it come to 14.30 WIB," he said.

Previously, the daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, revealed that there would be more candidates for cabinet officials, both deputy ministers and heads of agencies, who today met with President-elect Prabowo Subianto than on Monday (14/10).

"I haven't counted how many, but later because it's in one ministry with two nominations, there's one. There's more than one, a lot," said Dasco.
