Jokowi Believes That The Transition Of The Government Is Smooth, The New Cabinet Immediately Works Fast

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo believes that the transition to government will run smoothly and immediately move without pause, because Prabowo Subianto has always attended meetings and cabinet meetings for consolidation, since he was appointed president-elect.

"What I am happy about is that since he (Prabowo) was elected, as president-elect, preparations for the inauguration were really in terms of work plans, programs, etc., the transition went well," Jokowi said at the BNI Investor Daily Summit 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 8.

The President said that previously Prabowo as the Minister of Defense was only present for defense affairs at the cabinet meeting, but after becoming the President-elect, Prabowo was present at all limited meetings and plenary meetings.

"So that the plans for the flagship program that will be implemented by President Prabowo are really well prepared with the current ministers," he explained.

Jokowi gave an example, for the 2025 RAPBN, Prabowo had held several meetings with the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.

"Almost every week, almost every day we meet to prepare. What does that mean? This leadership transition will run smoothly, God willing, so that after being inaugurated, the President and the entire Cabinet can immediately work quickly to implement existing programs, without any pause," said Jokowi.

Jokowi revealed that in 2014 when he had just become President, he needed one to one and a half years to consolidate.

"This means that one to one and a half years our time is lost. That's why I am very happy. So the transition process for this government, we hope that only 12 days will run well and run smoothly," he said.

Jokowi emphasized that the transition to government that is running well and smoothly is important to maintain optimism and stability, both politics and the economy.
