CimaHI - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Cimahi Police arrested two grandfathers with the initials M (68) and L (53) who were perpetrators of sexual abuse to 11-year-old victims.

Kapolres Cimahi AKBP Tri Suhartanto menyampaikan bahwa peristiwa pelecehan seksual dilakukan oleh kedua pelaku tersebut terjadi di wilayah Kabupaten Bandung Barat.

"We released a criminal case of sexual abuse to one victim with two suspects. So the object of the victim is the same, but the incident and the suspect are different," Tri said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 7.

Tri revealed that this case began with the victim's confession that told her sister because she had experienced acts of sexual violence committed by the two grandfathers.

He added that for daily victims themselves live with the two perpetrators because their mother works as female workers (TKW) abroad and their biological father has died.

"The two perpetrators are still relative because there is still a family relationship between the victim and the suspects," he said.

Furthermore, Tri revealed that the motives of the two grandfathers were tempted because they saw the victim's body so that they carried out their depraved acts 10 times from November 2023.

"For the motive itself, the perpetrators were tempted by the molecule from the victim's body, who was 11 years old, who was still in grade 4 elementary school," he said.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with articles 81 and 82 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection with a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.

Furthermore, Tri is concerned about the number of cases of sexual harassment that befell minors. He appealed to parents to actively pay attention to their children and not believe in new people.

According to him, this case adds to the criminal record against women and children in the jurisdiction of the Cimahi Police, which has so far handled 87 cases so far this year.

The police chief reminded that this figure is not an achievement and emphasizes the importance of preventing and the active role of the community and related agencies in tackling crimes against children.

"Where we are no longer looking for a disclosure process, but how should we play an active role, how do we prevent this crime against women and children from continuing to increase in the jurisdiction of the Cimahi Police," he said.
