Israeli Military Clashes In West Bank, Youth 12 Killed

JAKARTA - A 12-year-old Palestinian boy was killed in clashes between Israeli youths and soldiers in the West Bank.

Reported by Reuters, the Israeli military said it was examining the report.

Videos from the mainland of Qaland showed youths blocking the road with tires on fire, while Israeli army vehicles and ambulances were at the scene.

Monday, October 7, marks the first anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, which sparked war in the Gaza Strip and sparked the worst bloodshed in the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Violence has escalated in the West Bank since October 2023. Hundreds of Palestinians including armed fighters, stone-throwing youths, and civilians were killed in clashes with Israeli security forces.

Dozens of Israelis have been killed in Palestinian street attacks over the past year.

Israel said it was on high alert for Monday's attack.

Movements in the West Bank are increasingly restricted as many checkpoints are closed, residents and some Palestinians who have entry permits receive notification on their phones saying they will not be allowed into Israel.
